Helping the Sisters

God be praised! We have much work to do in each of our houses and are in need of helping hands in every season! Read below to learn about our Ora et Labora Days and other volunteer opportunities.

Ora et Labora Days

Inspired by the Benedictine motto, “Ora et Labora” (Work and Prayer), the Sisters hold Ora et Labora Days every second Saturday of the month, from May through November.

We begin the day with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and then set off to labor for the glory of the Lord! There is plenty to do on the 180 acres of land: clearing brush, working in the flower gardens and vegetable garden, cutting up fallen trees, carpentry work, painting, etc. There is also inside work available for those who are unable to perform manual labor.

Everyone is invited—young and old, individuals and families—to come and spend time praying and working with the Sisters. See below for the full day’s schedule and how to RSVP.

Before coming to the Land, we ask you to please take a moment and VISIT OUR DRESS CODE PAGE.

"There is always the danger that we may just do the work for the sake of the work. This is where the respect and the love and the devotion come in - that we do it to God, to Christ, and that's why we try to do it as beautifully as possible"

St. Mother Teresa
