A Day in the Life

A typical day in the life of a Sister of the Children of Mary.

 

Nocturnal Adoration:

Each Sister takes a private Holy Hour of Adoration in the night.

6:00 AM

  • As you rise from sleep: “All for the Sacred and Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, all for the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, in union with St. Joseph!”

  • Private recitation of the Angelus

  • Dress, eat breakfast in Sacred Silence

7:00 AM

  • Pray Office of Readings followed by the chanting of Morning Prayer

8:15 AM

  • Holy Rosary

8:30 AM

  • Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

10:00 AM

  • Work

11:15 AM

  • Dinner listening to a reading or a tape
    (except Friday, which is a day of fasting for priests)

12:00 PM

  • Angelus

  • Clean up kitchen from dinner

1:00 PM

  • Day Prayer

  • Holy Leisure

  • There will be 1/2 hour of adoration for each sister between now and Evening Prayer

2:15 PM

  • Work

3:00 PM

  • Divine Mercy Chaplet

5:00 PM

  • Chant Evening Prayer

6:00 PM

  • Light repast in solitude

  • Private recitation of the Angelus

6:30 PM

  • Recreation

7:30 PM

  • Chant Night Prayer

9:00 PM

  • Sacred Silence

9:30 PM

  • Lights out
