Wes and Kelly Baker were asked to move to the land of the Emmanuel Convent in Newark in 2014 to start an apostolate for the sanctification of the family. Kelly homeschools their four boys and as a family they care for a small homestead with a flock of chickens, a small orchard, and a vegetable and herb garden. They make use of the natural, wild bounty on the land as they harvest wild mushrooms and herbs in season.

As part of the Sancta Familia Apostolate, Wes gives talk on the Faith and the Sanctification go the Family and builds custom liturgical furniture to beautify the sanctuary for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Wes has furnished our Motherhouse chapel in Cincinnati with custom, hand-built liturgical furniture including a versus Deum altar and reredos, a communion rail, and a lectern. Once his work for the Sisters’ chapel is done, he will begin work at a Church in near downtown Columbus. We hope and pray that his work will continue, spreading love and reverence for our Lord by beautifying the places where He dwells and where the Faithful come together to worship Him and to sanctify themselves and their families.
