If you're coming for retreat....

retreat house

Hospitality is offered especially to priests, seminarians, and those discerning a vocation to religious life and to all individuals and small groups who wish come away for awhile to grow in love for God and experience His peace, which is felt so keenly here in the silence, in the beauty, and most profoundly in adoration.

A retreat is a time away from our ordinary lives to devote special attention to God, to be still,to reflect, relax and pray. It is a time to think about our relationship with God, with family and friends, with work, community and church. The retreat can be directed or non directed. For small groups, arrangements can be made for talks to be given to the group. You may call 740-323-1977 for further information.

Phones, Televisions, Radios
The nature of the retreat is such that we desire to preserve an atmosphere that allows retreatants to step away from their busy, everyday lives. Therefore, while telephones are available for use in emergency, retreatants should not bring cell phones, televisions, radios or CD players. This way everyone can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the country. Our dress code is modest dress. No shorts, mini skirts or low-cut tops, please.

The retreat house is a farmhouse with a sun room overlooking the ponds, six beds and one sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen, and one bathroom with shower. We ask retreatants to bring and prepare their own food. Bed linens and towels are provided. Please bring an alarm clock and a flash light. (This does not apply to those women who come to discern a vocation to this community. They sleep and eat in the convent and their food is provided.)

Near the retreat house is our log chapel in which we have Solemn Exposition and adoration twice each day. Here at Children of Mary we pray that each person who comes here will spend time adoring God Incarnate in the Holy Eucharist and grow in understanding, appreciation and love for Him. Jesus said to St. Margaret Mary, "I thirst. I so ardently thirst to be loved by men in the Most Blessed Sacrament that this thirst devours Me."

Please consider sharing in our apostolate of spreading love and reverence for Our Eucharistic Lord.
