On June 23rd, the wall-builders arrived to erect the forms for the walls.

Building Corners
Corners require special forms - inner corners, outer corners, etc.!

adding walkways
Adding Walkways
Once the wall forms were erected, walkways were added to the outside of the forms so workers have a place to stand while pouring concrete. The walkways were only six inches wide - but they're used to working up high on narrow walkways!

spraying a non-stick coating
Spraying Forms With Non-Stick Coating
When everything was ready, the wall forms were sprayed with a non-stick coating to make it easier to remove the forms from the walls once they're dry.

concrete trucks arrive
Concrete Trucks Arrive
Time to pour those walls - three concrete trucks arrive for the job!

pump boom
Concrete Pump
To make the job easier, a pump truck is used. This truck has a huge boom that can be manipulated to pour concrete in even the most far-reaching corner! Fascinating!

pouring continues
Pouring Continues
The boom surely makes the job easy!

bracing concrete in corners
Bracing Concrete
Because of the 10-foot walls along the sides, wood braces had to be used to prevent the concrete from "squishing" out of the lower walls. That stuff is H - E - A - V - Y!!!

walls complete
Walls Complete
Less than an hour after starting to pour the walls, the job was complete! Didn't need any wheelbarrows for this part of the job!

The next morning, the wall builders arrived to remove the forms.
